Q.  Does the District supply water to customers outside the District?

A.  The District provides water service only to customers located inside the District. The District's water rights do not permit the water to be used to serve customers outside the District.

  

 

Q.  Does the District provide wastewater service to customers outside the District?

A.  The District has the treatment capacity to provide wastewater service to customers outside the District. Customers outside the District may be connected to the District wastewater system on an as-requested basis

     

 

Q.  What happens to the water that the District uses?

A.  Water used by the District is collected as wastewater, treated in the wastewater treatment facility, and discharged to an exfiltration gallery to promote recharge of the local groundwater system. On average, 95% of the water used by the District is returned to the exfiltration gallery (For example, if the District's water use in a day is 10,000 gallons, 9,500 gallons are discharged to the exfiltration gallery and 500 gallons are consumed by the District's customers). The District replaces its 5% consumptive use by releasing additional water to South Turkey Creek. In the end, the water used by the District is returned to the South Turkey Creek Basin.
